Canada-ASEAN SEED-2 Scholarship
The Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development – Phase 2 (SEED-2) program, funded by Global Affairs Canada under Canada's Indo-Pacific Strategy, provides scholarships for students from ASEAN Member States (including the Philippines) to conduct short-term study or research at Canadian post-secondary institutions. Scholarship value: $10,200 CAD for 4-month college/undergraduate or graduate exchange; $15,900 CAD for 8-month undergraduate exchange; $12,700 CAD for 5–6 month graduate exchange. Covers visa/study permit fees, airfare, health insurance, living expenses (accommodation, utilities, food), ground transportation, and books/supplies. Canadian institutions must apply on behalf of candidates and waive tuition fees. Requires alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Eligibility Requirements
- 1Filipino citizen (must be from an ASEAN Member State)
- 2Currently enrolled full-time at a Philippine post-secondary institution
- 3Paying tuition fees to that institution at time of application and for full duration of exchange
- 4Must NOT hold or have pending Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
- 5Must NOT be already participating in another Government of Canada-funded scholarship
- 6Must NOT be already enrolled in a degree program at a Canadian institution
- 7Application must be submitted by the Canadian host institution (not individual student)
